Surfing lessons for life

Few things I learnt in life from my recent windsurfing lessons:
.
1. If you wanna get good, you gotta get wet. Windsurfing, just like lifesurfing requires you to get wet, no matter the fluid -- seawater, tearswater, or my-precious-body-fluids-water. No other way! If you are not ready to get out of your comfort zone, you will remain mediocre border forever.
.
2. If you do not keep the mast close to your body, the wind "steals" the sail from you. And the wind steals a lot of things.
.

3. Practice is everything. If you wanna master smooth surfing, you have to try things. Winds, tides, waves and all kind of sails and boards provide for different sailing adventures. If you do not try different things, you better get a canoe and go with the stream.
.
4. You cant fight the wind -- it is always stronger. You have to learn to go with the wind and let it do the job. Remeber: if you try to fight with the nature, you will never win over it. A good surfer always lets the nature do the job. And just surf with it...
.
5. The board does not matter. What matters is you -- you are between the sail and the wind, between the sky and the sea, between the shore and the horizon. In the perfect experience, you will simply disapear -- what will remain is the wind, that rides across the sea. You will become the wind. And that's what surfing is about -- blend with the nature. Just like in life -- you will become part of the life, and then living will become surfing. Life surfing.
.
6. Sometimes there are waves. But they only let you jump higher! If you are sitting in a boat, your comfort zone, they may shake you and even sink your comfort zone. Do jump! That's what surfing is about -- big waves give you only the opprotunity to jump higher.
.
7. In surfing, there are no winners! It's just your way to surf through the day, the life and enjoy the moment to the most.
.
8. You always surf alone. As in life, you are always alone. There might be other surfers around you -- enjoy the ones that go with the wind just in your direction. And if they stay in the wind, when you are taken off, flip the sail and change the direction. The wind sometimes is a windy road. Take the turn.
.
9. When surfing, do not surpress the spontaneous desire to yell. Do it! As in life -- when you enjoy it, let it out. Scream, cry, laugh, yell... express!
.
10. If you body hurts and feels like shaken at the end of the day, than you know it's been real! Like in life, the real experiences leave the deepest cuts on us.
